Hannah and I spent the weekend at Scott’s parent’s house in Lone Jack. It’s enough out in the country that it feels like you’re actually getting away.
His parents were gone and Scott couldn’t come down, so Hannah and I indulged in some lazy sitting on the couch, reading magazines…crossword puzzles…and mostly, working shoulder to shoulder in a fully-loaded kitchen!
Hannah made homemade applesauce (made with Splenda, not sugar…and it was DELICIOUS!), chocolate cake made with egg whites and no yolks…SERIOUSLY!, the best cake I’ve ever had.
And I made a stuffed pork loin. The stuffing consisted of apples, raisins and sauteed onions. Marinated in an apple cider.
We topped the meal off with some green beans that Joanne canned last year.
It was delicious!!! – and fun to cook together.
