grandkids tradition

I have many pictures with Baird and Hannah standing next to Grandmother and Granddad as they get ready to leave for the annual production of Handel’s Messiah at the RLDS Auditorium. Dad has sung in this production of the Messiah for over 25 years.

The KC Symphony accompanies the choir.
Soloists are flown in from around the country.

I was honored to sing in the alto section while in high school and count it among my greatest musical experiences.

Tonight, Hannah and Baird and Ryann were the attendees.

Classic Williams family tradition.
Classical music at its best.

A bittersweet ending to a tradition that has been a part of my children’s lives since childhood. This was the last performance of the Messiah at the Auditorium. Next year it will be held in downtown Kansas City at the new Kauffman Center which will be newly opened in 2011.

Bravo, Granddad!
